Verner Panton Verpan Wire Portable Lamp

Description

A compact version of a classic, from a designer with work in MoMA’s collection.

Originally conceived by design legend Verner Panton in 1972, the Wire Lamp has long been celebrated for its radical interplay of industrial logic and poetic form. This compact, cordless edition carefully scales down Panton’s legendary silhouette while preserving the exact design elements that made the original an instant classic. Constructed from a chrome-plated stainless steel cylindrical frame that spirals upward into a delicate, airy sphere, it effortlessly supports a perfectly balanced opal hemisphere. Fitted with an intuitive 3-step touch dimmer atop the shade, the Wire Portable radiates a soft, glare-free ambient glow upward and outward. Engineered for maximum adaptability, this rechargeable companion can live anywhere you need extra light, indoors or out. Verner Panton’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection.
