Andy Warhol Flowers Skateboard

Description

Pops of Pop art flowers set against grassy ground-one of Andy Warhol’s many iconic images.

A detail of the artist’s silkscreen painting Flowers (1964), a work in MoMA’s collection, has been reproduced on this skateboard. Warhol appropriated the image from a photograph of hibiscus flowers published in Modern Photography magazine. The work is another example of Warhol’s use of repetition and mechanical reproduction. The back of the skateboard is printed with an image of Warhol and a reproduction of his signature. The board is crafted from seven-ply Canadian maple wood and measures 32h x 8.25w x 0.5″d. The Skateroom is a platform for promoting, selling and producing art on skateboards that supports youth-empowering organizations.
